Folk artist, Oggu Katha exponent  Chukka Sattaiah passes away

Noted folk art Oggu Katha exponent and National Sahitya Akademy award winner Chukka Sattaiah passed away due to ill health on Thursday. He was 82. He is survived by two sons.

JANGAON:  Noted folk art Oggu Katha exponent and National Sahitya Akademy award winner Chukka Sattaiah passed away due to ill health on Thursday. He was 82. He is survived by two sons. His wife and daughter passed away long back. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao expressed condolences over the death of Sathaiah. “Sathaiah became a proud artiste not only for Telangana or the country, but across the world. His death has created a big void,” he said. The CM has conveyed his condolences to the members of the bereaved family. In recognition to his service to the folklore for over six decades, Chief Minister recently announced  `10,000 per month pension to Chukka Sattaiah.
