HYDERABAD: The central government has given two more clearances to the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme.  The Union Ground Water Authority and Construction Machinery Consultancy’s directorate has given the clearances. The project has so far received the hydrology and inter-state clearances, stage-1 forest clearance, ToR for environment clearance. Project chief engineer Hari Ram has been in Delhi for the last one week, pursuing with various departments for clearances. 

Irrigation minister T Harish Rao called on Union water resources minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Wednesday and sought early stage-2 forest clearance. He said the Telangana government was making efforts to provide irrigation water to one crore acres and urged the Union minister to see that all clearances were given at the earliest. Gadkari said he would coordinate with the ministry of environment and forests and help the state government. TRS MPs Boora Narasiah Goud and BB Patil accompanied Harish Rao.
