Rs 60 crore for Phase-IV works in Telangana's Nagarkurnool

The authorities of Nagarkurnool district are gearing up for the fourth phase of state government’s flagship developmental programme, Mission Kakatiya.

NAGARKURNOOL: The authorities of Nagarkurnool district are gearing up for the fourth phase of state government’s flagship developmental programme, Mission Kakatiya.

The authorities have prepared a plan with an outlay of Rs 60.30 crore to execute the programme of restoring irrigation tanks in the district.

The Achampeta Assembly constituency will be the biggest beneficiary of the fourth phase. About 125 tanks in the constituency will be restored under the programme.

According to officials, 281 tanks in the district were selected for restoration in the first phase and the work on 277 tanks has been completed at a cost of Rs 55.03 crore.

For second-phase work involving an expenditure of Rs 76.14 crore, 409 tanks were identified. Of these, the restoration of 390 tanks has been completed. In the third phase, 450 tanks were selected for restoration and work on 285 tanks has been completed by spending Rs 8.19 crore.
