Cong on a mission to woo students

Ahead of the ensuing general elections, the Congress has begun intensifying its efforts to woo students to its side.

HYDERABAD: Ahead of the ensuing general elections, the Congress has begun intensifying its efforts to woo students to its side.TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, while addressing Vidyarthi Nirudyoga Dhoom Dham organised at Osmania University campus by the unemployed youth, on Monday, gave a clarion call to all the youngsters in the state to teach a fitting lesson to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, “who has failed to keep his promise of providing lakhs of jobs to the unemployed youth in the state.”

“Statehood to Telangana was achieved only because of the agitation undertaken by the students in various universities, particularly those from the OU. KCR has become CM only because of the supreme sacrifices made by the Telangana youth during the statehood movement. But, he has forgotten the promises made to the student community and unemployed youth during the statehood agitation after ascending the gadde,” Uttam criticised. “Being MLAs, my wife Padmavathi and myself have got the rare opportunity of serving the people. As we don’t have children, we consider all of you (students) as our own children.

We will be at your side and fight against the government to make you get jobs,” he announced.Meanwhile, the party expressed solidarity with its leader and ex-minister D Sridhar Babu, against whom a case was registered by Hyderabad police for his alleged bid to implicate a TRS leader in marijuana smuggling case.
