KCR promises special IT corridor for Muslims

The Chief Minister announced a spree of schemes on Monday, including the construction of an Islamic Convention Centre and a promise to conduct competitive exams in Urdu.

HYDERABAD: A special IT corridor and an exclusive industrial park for Muslims will soon come up in the State. These are the initiatives proposed by Chief Minister  K Chandrasekhar Rao for welfare of the minority communities. However, he did not elaborate the modalities of the IT corridor.
After showering sops on backward communities and kickstarting the election season, the ruling TRS seems to have set its focus on Muslims.

The Chief Minister announced a spree of schemes on Monday, including the construction of an Islamic Convention Centre and a promise to conduct competitive exams in Urdu. Speaking at Pragathi Bhavan, Rao said top priority would be accorded to minorities in all government schemes. They would be allocated a 10 per cent quote in the 2BHK programme. The meeting was attended by a host of ministers including Mohammed Mahamood Ali, KT Rama Rao, Etela Rajender and Hydreabad Member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM Legislature party leader Akbarudddin Owaisi and other officials.

Rao directed officials to give of  Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh without bank linkage to minorities for starting self-employment units. He also wanted necessary measures to be taken to strengthen the Minority development Corporation, Urdu Academy and Wakf Board.
Meanwhile, MIM LS member Asaduddin Owaisi, present at meeting, said the Minority residential schools being set up, within next 10 years, would bring a social revolution in society. He said teaching and accommodations in the hostels were good, said an official release.
