WARANGAL:Amid speculation that he is getting ready to join Congress along with TTDP working president A Revanth Reddy, politbureau member and former minister Revuri Prakash Reddy on Monday clarified that he has no plans to join Congress and that all the reports about his joining that party are false and baseless. In fact, he demanded Revanth Reddy to clarify his position.

Speaking to reporters, Prakash Reddy said he had not approached anyone in Congress to join that party. “I have no plans to join Congress or any other party. The Congress leaders are unnecessarily dragging me into the controversy. I am happy in TDP and would continue. All reports about my jumping to Congress are baseless,” he said. “TDP had given me political life.

There is no question of leaving it. In fact, I am preparing programmes to strengthen the party,” he added.  Taking exception to Revanth Reddy maintaining silence on the issue, Prakash Reddy said it was high time that Revanth Reddy should speak on the issue as it was creating lot of confusion among the party cadre.

“Our state president L Ramana had asked Revanth to clarify his position.  But till now he had not done it. As a working president he cannot maintain silence on the issue. We expect him to clarify his position at the earliest,” he said. After  reports started coming that Prakash Reddy was joining Congress, another TDP politbureau member from the district Sitakka, Warangal district president G Satyanarayana and other leaders are in a fix and do not know what to do. Whether to follow Prakash Reddy or to stay in the party. Party insiders stated that many leaders have made up their mind to join other parties as they do not see future in TDP. It is matter of time that these leaders switch to other parties.

Meanwhile, Prakash Reddy claimed that the proposed Kakatiya Mega Textile Park, for which chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao laid the foundation on Sunday, would meet the same fate as other promises made to the people of Warangal. “CM had made several promises to the people of Warangal which had not been fulfilled till now. This textile park would also meet the same fate. He never completes any work. We will soon see what would happen to this textile  park,” he stated.
