HYDERABAD: With the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports generating much political heat in Telangana, the State government has differed with some of the accounting practices of the auditing body. The State government has decided to send detailed replies to the CAG in this regard.
With the CAG finding fault with the State government on various aspects, giving opposition parties an opportunity to corner the ruling TRS, the State government on Monday took stock of the situation. The officials concerned have reportedly found out that the CAG pointed out the “accounting irregularities” and not any “misappropriation of funds”. The officials have opined that the “accounting irregularities” pointed out by the CAG were due to the different accounting practices adopted by the State government and CAG.
