HYDERABAD: The Lulu International Group has agreed to set up meat export unit, a 100 per cent export oriented unit, on 100 acres of land in Telangana. The Lulu Group informed this to Animal Husbandry Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav at a meeting in Dubai during Gulfood-2018. Srinivas Yadav along with officials participated in the food trade show.Srinivas Yadav met Lalu International Group CEO Saleem and co-director Vijayakumar in Dubai on Tuesday.
The Minister said that the meat export unit being set up by the Lulu Group would create a direct employment to 800 and an indirect employment to 5,000.Srinivas Yadav said TS exported around 420 tonnes of sheep meat and 59,800 tonnes of buffalo meat to various other countries in 2017-18. He added that the State government was planning to establish one meat processing unit in every district.
