HYDERABAD:  In a relief to the Telangana State Public Service Commission, the Hyderabad High Court on Friday refused to stay the Teachers Recruitment Test (TRT) scheduled to take place on Saturday. After a long time the government has issued the notification to fill teachers posts and several unemployees have been waiting for it. The court would not stay the examination in the last minute, the court observed.
Justice M S Ramachandra Rao refused to intervene in the ‘lunch motion’ petition moved by D Satish Rao and other unemployees from various parts of the state seeking stay of the TRT exam.

The petitioners’ counsel told the court that the TRT was being conducted through online mode instead of manual test as was held in the past examinations. Besides, hall tickets were also not made available to the candidates till date. If the written examination was conducted by filling the OMR sheets then there would be scope for the candidates to verify the answers with the key later on, he added.

On the other hand, the government counsel submitted that the decision to conduct the test online was taken long back and it was known to the aspiring candidates. About three lakh candidates have applied for the TRT and it was not proper to seek stay of the examination at the last minute, he argued.
After hearing both sides, the judge while refusing to stay the TRT, advised the petitioners to withdraw the case or the court would dismiss the petition. The case was withdrawn by the petitioners.
