Stage set for over 9.6 lakh students to take Telangana's Intermediate Public Examination

HYDERABAD:As many as 9,63,546 students from both I and II years will take the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE) between February 28  to March 19. In a first, the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE)  has allocated 40 self-centres, where students will answer the exams in their own college premises, in the state this year. In total, 1,294 examination centres have been identified to accommodate the students. Of these, 527 are government, social welfare, aided and model schools and junior colleges and remaining 767 are private institutions.

Dr A Ashok, secretary, TSBIE while briefing about the arrangement made for the examination said that in addition to providing medical aid and drinking water facility at all centres, CCTV cameras have also been installed to prevent malpractices. No electronic gadgets are allowed inside the examination hall. Jammers to block calls and SMS facilities are also being installed. In addition, 50 flying squads comprising members of the education department, police and revenue department and 200 sitting squads have also been arranged.

Further, all photocopying shops in the vicinity of the centres would remain shut from 9 am to 12 noon during the exam schedule.Those caught copying, cheating or impersonating will be booked and debarred from examinations.  

Students are also being given 15 minutes of a grace period from 8:45 am to 9 am after which they will not be allowed to enter the examination centres. The secretary also instructed the students to make use of the Exam Centre Locator app, that had been launched last year to aid students to reach their centres on time by giving them realtime traffic updates and navigation.
