Rs 62 crore allotted to SC Crucial Welfare Fund

HYDERABAD: The state government on Saturday announced the guidelines for the new scheme, Crucial Welfare Fund, intended for the Scheduled Castes (SCs) and allocated Rs 62 crore to it from SC Development Fund. The government is implementing many schemes for the welfare and development of Scheduled Castes. In certain situations, some needy persons/ institutions may not be covered/benefitted under the ambit of the existing schemes due to certain rules/regulations/guidelines of the scheme.

Those SC persons/institutions who cannot be assisted under the existing schemes in any way will be financially assisted in emergency situations/conditions. It is proposed to keep the crucial fund at the disposal of district collectors/director/government for sanction under Crucial Welfare Fund.

The objective of the scheme is to financially assist the needy and deserving Scheduled Caste persons/groups/ institutions in emergency situations in the fields of education and meritorious competitions of national and international sports events and other fields as decided by the government from time to time. Financial assistance will be given for needs like presentation of research papers/attending seminars by research scholars.
