Colleague tried to force me to marry him: Bride

Prashanth (the colleague) and Ashwini (the bride) were counselled at the Huzurabad police station on Tuesday.

KARIMNAGAR: Disputes erupted at the Huzurabad police station in connection with the marriage of a girl which was stalled on Monday as her colleague claimed to be in love with her and sent selfie pictures to her groom. Prashanth (the colleague) and Ashwini (the bride) were counselled at the Huzurabad police station on Tuesday.

After meeting the police, Prashanth told mediapersons that he had been in love with Ashwini for the last one and a half years and due to embarrassment at work place, Ashwini had left the job at the supermarket. He further said that he had no intention of blackmailing Ashwini and that out of fear, she was not confessing to their love before her parents.

Meanwhile, Ashwini told mediapersons that Prashanth and her were just friends and that they just took a few pictures at the super market. She alleged that after her engagement held with Anil, Prashanth had started blackmailing her. “He threatened me that he would commit suicide by writing his name in suicide note. His friends forcefully took me to his house and forced me to marry him. However, I came out of their clutches with my parents help”, Ashwini said. However, police have not yet taken any decision.
