HYDERABAD: FICCI Ladies Organisation (FLO)-Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation’s (TSIIC) Industrial Park will soon start functioning, as land has been allotted to women planning to set up their industries. Industries Minister KT Rama Rao handed over land allotment letters to about 18 women entrepreneurs at the land allotment ceremony held in Hyderabad on Friday.   “About 200 acres of land has been allotted for parks meant exclusively for women entrepreneurs. Government has allocated 50 acres for FLO TSIIC Park at Sultanpur, 30 acres for Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE) Park at Toopran and 120 acres for Association of Lady  Entrepreneurs of India (ALEAP).”

“Not just these dedicated parks, but Telangana has about 140 industrial parks and 10 per cent of land is earmarked for women entrepreneurs in all these industrial parks.”“I’m glad that all the land in FLO Industrial Park is already sold out and the government will be happy to make it happen and allot more land if women entrepreneurs need,” said KT Rama Rao, speaking during the land allotment ceremony in Hyderabad.

According to the estimates of Industries Department, about `150 crore of initial investment is set to go into the FLO TSIIC Park generating employment for about 1,500 people.    “The industries to be run by women entrepreneurs at FLO Park are set to create employment for about 1,500 people. I do hope a majority of them would be women,” added KT Rama Rao.   The FLO TSIIC Women’s Industrial Park at Sultanpur is spread over 50 acres. It will house women-owned and women-run businesses. Industries which had been allotted land belonged to various sectors like packaging, organic handloom apparel, food processing, medical devices and several others.
