Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao not keen on BC quota: Congress

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is not serious about giving enhanced quota to backward classes in the panchayat raj elections, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged.

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is not serious about giving enhanced quota to backward classes in the panchayat raj elections, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy has alleged.
While interacting with reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Uttam said that the Congress had been demanding reservation for BCs in proportion to their population.

The High Court was approached stating that the state government was giving just 34 pc reservation to backward classes  whose population was much higher in the state. Subsequently, the High Court directed the government to conduct elections only after conducting enumeration of BC voters, he recalled.

“Instead of feeling ashamed at being reprimanded by courts for various wrong decisions, KCR tried to link the case with the Congress. In this case too he tried to link the petitioner (Swapna Reddy) with the Congress. But we don’t know who she is.” the senior  Congress leader said and accused the state government of indulging in blame game over the reservations.
