HYDERABAD: Mocking the promises earlier made by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that the State capital would be transformed into a global city, TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy wanted to know what happened to the promise made KCR that Hyderabad city would be developed on the lines of Istanbul and Dallas.

“Leave alone transforming the State capital into Istanbul and Dallas, KCR’s government has failed to keep the roads in the Hyderabad city in a good condition. Now, all roads in the State capital are dotted with potholes,” Uttam criticised while condemning the arrest of Congress Party leaders and workers including Hyderabad City Congress president M Anjan Kumar Yadav, who had tried to organise protests in front of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) headquarters here on Wednesday.

“The GHMC has completely failed to take up repairs of roads in the State capital. The previous Congress government promoted Hyderabad as a global destination of investments. But, now the TRS regime has utterly failed to properly maintain the infrastructure provided by the previous government,” Uttam said.

Earlier in the day, Uttam along with party seniors, V Hanumantha Rao, Mohammed Ali Shabbir and others, visited the family members of Mohammed Azam, the resident of Barkas in Old City of Hyderabad, who was killed due to mob lynching in Bidar of Karnataka, last week.

Uttam met Azam’s father Mohammed Osman and handed over a cheque of Rs 2.5 lakh to the family. He assured all help to the family.
