Godavari inflows to Sriramsagar project increase

After Krishna water, the State started getting Godavari waters too on Friday. Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) in the Godavari river basin started getting water on Friday due to heavy rains in Maharashtra.

HYDERABAD: After Krishna water, the State started getting Godavari waters too on Friday. Sriram Sagar Project (SRSP) in the Godavari river basin started getting water on Friday due to heavy rains in Maharashtra area. The flood water inflows into SRSP increased from 1,200 cusecs on Thursday to 4,906 cusecs on Friday.

Meanwhile, the Krishna river inflows too increased. The outflow from Almatti reservoir in Karnataka was recorded as 1,73,823 cusecs on Friday and the outflow from Narayanapur as 1,88,930 cusecs. With this, the Priyadarshini Jurala Project (PJP) was almost filled with water on Friday. As against the 9.66 tmcft storage capacity, the current storage is 9.33 tmcft.

The inflows into Jurala were 1.80 lakh cusecs and outflows were 1.85 lakh cusecs. Of which, the water released through spillway was 1.44 lakh cusecs, through powerhouse 35,000 cusecs, to Nettempadu lift 2,250 cusecs, to Bhima lift-1 1,300 cusecs, to Koilsagar 630 cusecs, to LMC 500 cusecs, to RMC 431 cusecs, to parallel canal 1,200 cusecs and to Bhima lift-2 about 1,500 cusecs. The total outflow from Jurala was 1,85,456 cusecs at 6 pm on Friday.
