HYDERABAD: The call for an indefinite strike given by lorry owners, starting Friday, was successful with 75 per cent lorries lying idle, according to Telangana lorry owners association.

Close to 1.5 lakh of lorries out of 2 lakh have stayed idle at various hubs situated across the city outskirts. The lorry owners are set to take up losses of `10 - 15 crores. On Friday, lorries carrying essential commodities like milk and vegetables were allowed to ply between the districts and States.

However, the strike is set to intensify by Monday with oil tankers association set to join it.

All India Auto Motor Congress (AIMTC) which called for the indefinite strike is set to continue the strike as their various demands have not been addressed on Friday.
