BJP’s Raja Singh justifies lynching by cow vigilantes

Singh’s comments come in reference to the death of 28-year-old dairy farmer Rakbar Khan who was lynched by mob that suspected him to be a cow smuggler.

HYDERABAD: Justifying mob lynching by cow vigilantes, BJP’s motormouth MLA from Goshamahal, Raja Singh said that similar incidents would continue in India until “the cow is announced as the national animal” and cow slaughtering is stopped.

“If the violence has to stop, cows have to be honoured as the National Animal of India, there should be strict laws protecting it, and deemed officers should be appointed to oversee its enforcement. Until then, similar incidents will continue,” Singh said in a video requesting Prime Minister Narendra Modi to implement his proposals.

Singh’s comments come in reference to the death of 28-year-old dairy farmer Rakbar Khan who was lynched by mob that suspected him to be a cow smuggler. “Nobody questions why he was killed. According to media, he had been previously booked on suspicion of smuggling cows. Why was no action taken against him?” Singh asked.
