Telangana Rashtra Samiti changing stand on special category status like chameleon: Congress

The Opposition leader in the State Legislative Council Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Wednesday alleged that the TRS changed its stand on special category status to AP.

HYDERABAD: The Opposition Congress and the TRS leaders continued to wash their dirty linen in public on the special category status. To expose the "double standards" of TRS leaders, the Congress has decided to release the old videotapes of speeches of TRS leaders on the special status issue. The Opposition leader in the State Legislative Council Mohammad Ali Shabbir on Wednesday alleged that the TRS changed its stand on special category status to AP.

Before criticising the Congress for supporting SCS to AP, the TRS leaders should consult their MP K Kavitha, who raised “Jai Andhra” slogan in the Lok Sabha, Shabbir said.

“TRS has been changing its colours like a chameleon. The expert in taking u-turns is KCR, who will speak about the Third Front in the morning and speak about BJP in the evening,” Shabbir alleged.

However, TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar alleged that Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad exposed his favouritism towards Andhra Pradesh in the Parliament. “Azad made it clear that Congress’ attachment is more with AP. This thoroughly exposed the Congress’ attitude towards Telangana,” Prabhakar alleged.
However, another Congress leader A Revanth Reddy made a direct attack on the family of KCR. “Both TRS and KCR’s family are useless,” he said.

DS will not join Cong

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters here, Congress leader Madhu Yashki scotched the rumours that TRS leader D Srinivas would join Congress. “It is not true that D Srinivas met Sonia Gandhi and Pranab Mukherjee,” Yashki said.
