HYDERABAD:Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy called chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao an “agent” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.  In an informal chat with reporters here on Monday, the PCC chief said that the chief minister was not putting pressure on Central government for the implementation of the assurances given in the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014.

“When Rao supported the BJP government during President’s elections and also for GST Bill, why is he not asking the Centre now for implementing the assurances given during the bifurcation of combined AP,” the PCC chief wondered.

“The CM declared that he would create an earthquake in Delhi for the implementation of 12 per cent reservations to Muslims. What happened to it?” Uttam wondered.  “Chandrasekhar Rao has been hoodwinking the people for the last four years. Rao has been supporting Modi government and became an agent of Modi by all means. Vote for KCR is vote for Modi,” Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged.

The PCC chief said that the pre-poll alliances would be decided by AICC president Rahul Gandhi. “I have no individual opinion on poll alliances. I will follow the high command,” Reddy said.  He, however, hastened to add that the Congress was sure to come to power in the state after next elections even without forging alliances and Congress was ready for elections. He claimed that people from Seemandhra settled in Telangana and Muslim minorities would support Congress in next elections. Settlers would get due importance in party tickets in next elections”, he added.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader and former MP V Hanumantha Rao felt that there was no need for taking up the  BC census. “The outcome of Samagra Kutumba Sarve is enough,” Rao said. He wondered why the State government was not extending the tenure of sarpanches, as it extended the tenure of retired officers.

Cong men are agents of Andhra leaders: TRS

In a strong rebuttal to the Congress leaders calling Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as “agent” and “dictator”, the TRS described the Congress leaders as “coverts and agents of Andhra leaders.” Speaking to reporters here on Monday, TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar alleged that Congress was joining hands with Telugu Desam Party to stall the construction of Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme and other projects in the state.
