Polls in sight, BJP chief Amit Shah to make monthly visits to Telangana

Shah’s tour programme is being designed in such a way so that he can take part in the first phase.

HYDERABAD: BJP national president Amit Shah is all set to visit the state twice in the next two months in order to prepare his party cadres for the 2019 polls. Shah, who has begun concentrating on party affairs in the two states by personally monitoring the party activities, will come to Telangana during this month first and later in July. “As already decided, our national president is expected to visit Telangana either in the second week or third week of this month. His visit is likely to be finalised to coincide with the Parivarthan Yatra, which will be undertaken in all Assembly segments in a phased manner, soon,” party MLC N Ramachandra Rao told Express here on Wednesday.

He said that the first phase of the yatra, during which the BJP leaders will travel in a bus, is set to begin from Yadadri soon. After offering prayers to Lord Lakshminarasimha at Yadadri temple, the BJP leaders will embark on the proposed yatra by addressing a public meeting. The route map of the first phase of yatra is being finalised to cover 30 Assembly segments. Similarly, the rest of the constituencies will be covered in the remaining three phases of yatra.

Shah’s tour programme is being designed in such a way so that he can take part in the first phase. Some of the Union ministers too hereafter will frequently visit the state along with BJP general secretaries — P Muralidhar Rao and Ram Madhav — in order to regularly hold training sessions for party cadres in every Lok Sabha constituency for the next one year, sources informed.“Union ministers and party national leaders will frequently hold meetings with cadres in every Lok Sabha segment every fortnight,” a BJP senior said.

The party cadres already started organising door-to-door campaigns in every village across the state as Gram Panchayat polls are round the corner. They also began distributing pamphlets to people to explain the Centre’s share of funds in development works and welfare schemes being implemented in Telangana.

Laxman sleeps in Dalitwada
BJP state unit chief K Laxman slept in a Dalitwada at Dhanasri village in Zaheerabad Assembly constituency of Sangareddy district on Wednesday night as part of Palle Nidra programme. Before proceeding to the village from Hyderabad, he addressed media in the state capital. He thanked Narendra Modi government for giving all technical clearances to Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme. “The speedy clearances being given to projects and funds being released to state show the commitment of PM Modi to the overall development of Telangana. Instead of criticising the Centre, the TRS at least should properly utilise the funds released by the Centre,” Laxman said.
