First a rat, now a lizard finds its way into idli parcel

Barely ten days after a dead rat was found in a dish at a city tiffin centre, a dead lizard was found at another tiffin centre in the city on Tuesday.

WARANGAL: Barely ten days after a dead rat was found in a dish at a city tiffin centre, a dead lizard was found at another tiffin centre in the city on Tuesday.

According to GWMC health officer Dr Raja Reddy, the lizard was found in a parcel of idli. Venkatramana had bought a plate of idli from Bhavani tiffin centre in  the city. When he check the tiffin to look at the quantity of chutney served to him, he found a dead lizard and informed the management.

The health officer inspected the food and the kitchen at the tiffin centre and sealed it. He also imposed a fine of `25,000 on the tiffin centre. The chutney sample was sent to a lab for testing.
