ADILABAD: An 18-year-old youngster allegedly abducted a minor tribal girl and sexually assaulted her for over 15 days in Sirikonda mandal of Adilabad district.
This incident came to light on Tuesday. According to police, the accused, K Baljith Singh, lured a 16-year-old tribal girl on the pretext of marrying her and sexually assaulted her. She returned home from the captive of the accused on Monday and informed her parents who lodged a complaint with the police, later. The police registered cases under POCSO and SC/ST Atrocities (prevention) Act. The police is searching for the accused.
Disappointed by the incident, the girl’s brother attempted suicide by trying to hang himself from the ceiling of his residence. The boy was rushed to RIMS hospital.
