HYDERABAD: Hours after Shiv Sena in an editorial published on its party mouthpiece slammed All India Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi for his remarks on the construction of Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Owaisi called the Maharashtra-based party “afraid of PM Narendra Modi” and as those “who can only write editorials”. Speaking to media persons on Sunday, Owaisi said,”The reality is they are very scared and afraid of PM Narendra Modi. To cover up their cowardice, they have developed a new formula of only writing editorials and assuming that they are doing a good service. My advice to them is to leave the Modi and Fadnavis government because you are also enjoying the fruits of power.”

Shiv Sena has been regularly criticising the BJP government in editorials. Recently, Shiv Sena lashed out at Owaisi’s criticisms regarding the recent push by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the Centre to pass an ordinance and commence construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. Owaisi had said, “They are ignorant of the law. They should read the Ismail Faruqui judgement. I challenge you to bring in an ordinance. We want to see whether this country will run according to the Constitution or according to your whims.”
