WARANGAL: The TRS leadership, which is struggling to find a suitable candidate for Warangal East after sitting MLA Konda Surerka crossed over to Congress, have to now deal with it’s own party senior leaders who want the leadership to give party ticket to those who have been working for the party since its inception.

A large number of TRS leaders from Warangal city, Parkal, Geesgonda, Narsampet and surrounding areas, who have been with the party since its inception held a meeting on Sunday and demanded party chief K Chandrasekhar Rao to declare Gudimalla Ravi Kumar as a party candidate for Warangal East.

They even warned that if the party leadership failed to respond to their demand, it has to pay a heavy price during the ensuing Assembly polls.

“We have been working for the party tirelessly since its inception, but, we have been neither given prominent posts in the party nor were nominated to any posts in the government. We feel that the party leadership should give Warangal East ticket to Ravi Kumar as he deserves it.”

“If he is made the party candidate, every worker would work for his victory. This will also send a message to all the party leaders in the State that party recognises its workers who work for the party sincerely,” senior TRS leader from erstwhile Warangal P Vishnuvardhana Reddy said.

The leaders warned that if the party gives a ticket to people joining from other parties, the cadre would be forced to work against the candidate.
