HYDERABAD: The Congress party is all set to release its first list on November 1 for more than 40 constituencies. It is reported that AICC’s screening committee, led by Bhakta Charan Das, which had camped in the city for the past four days, has completed the screening of ticket aspirants and has left for Delhi on Tuesday.

Also, party sources have unofficially released the ‘almost final’ list of Congress candidates for as many as 56 constituencies. It is also learnt that the announcement for these constituencies is now only a formality.
While Congress is also trying to wrap up seat sharing talks with its allies — TDP, CPI and TJS — in the next couple of days, notwithstanding the outcome of these talks, it is planning to release the first list of candidates for constituencies.

“We are working on finalising both seat sharing talks and contestants by November 1. If seat sharing talks prolong, AICC will announce  candidates for the constituencies which are definitely going to be retained by us, and won’t be claimed by our allies,” said an insider  from AICC.

Senior leaders like TPCC chief Uttam Kumar  Reddy, Revanth Reddy, K Jana Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, DK Aruna, Sabitha Indira Reddy, Ponnala Laxmaiah, Damodar Rajnarasimha and T Jeevan Reddy have found place in this rumoured list.

It may be stated that though AICC had announced the relaxation of ‘one ticket for one family’ rule, interestingly, no second member from the same family is mentioned in  the list.
