A musical badshahi dawat at Zune

There is a famous Punjabi saying, ‘Jine Lahore nahin vekhya, wo te jamiya hi nahi’, which means, ‘the person who hasn’t experienced Lahore, hasn’t lived at all’. A city whose identity can be derived from its extremely rich food culture, Lahore is closer to home than you think. Zune, the Indian specialty restaurant at The Hilton New Delhi/Jankpuri, presents a taste of Lahore till December 15. “The festival will offer an opportunity to feast on a tempting spread of culinary delights based on authentic Lahori recipes, thus bringing local and true taste of the cuisine to its patrons. Even the music played during the festival will be traditional and rustic,’’ says Executive chef Rakesh Kumar.
Guests will be able to savour an extensive selection of kababs, koftas and kormas prepared in traditional lagans and degchis. The menu will include popular dishes like Lahori Machli Fry, Boti Tikka Masala, Chapali Kebab, Teekha Paneer Tikka Kali Mirch, Tandoori Annaas Ki Chaat, Kale Channe ke Kabab, Mir’s Chicken Kadai, Balti Fish Curry, Peshawari Chargha Paneer, Lauki Dal Changeri, Shindi Murgh Pulao, Mawe ki Kheer, Gulam Jamun and a lot more. ‘‘The festival will be a feast for all age groups. There is something for everybody. For those who know what Lahori cuisine is all about, will be overjoyed and those who haven’t tried too much of it before, will be pleasenly surprised. I have tried to take traditional Lahori cuisine and transform it using modern culinary trends,’’ says Kumar. Cost for two is approximately `1,800 plus taxes.
