Polish fashion enamours the Capital

Since Poland came under European Union the global luxury brands found the country to be a virgin market for their brands.

Since Poland came under European Union the global luxury brands found the country to be a virgin market for their brands. But in India, we got the taste of Polish fashion when designer-duo Pankaj and Nidhi Ahuja used Polish folk craft in their fall-winter 2012 collection titled ‘Wycinanki’. Probably this collection inspired the Polish Institute in Delhi to showcase the work of three top designers from Poland to Indian fashion lovers.

On Wednesday night Polish ambassador Prof. Piotr Klodkowski, director of Polish Institute in Delhi, Anna Tryc-Bromley, and director of Polish Fashion Institute, Grazyna Olbrych treated us to some fabulous fashion from Poland at Terrace at blueFROG. Designers Maciej Zien, Agnieszka Maciejak and Bartek Michalec of Zou Corp. presented world-class collections. Polish fashion has already made a mark in their superior production quality and Indian fashion would gain a lot from their Polish counterparts.

The evening saw jewellery designer Radhika Jha, Aasthi Bhartiya, Jivi Sethi, Mahesh Mathai and designers like Amit Aggarwal, Paras, Aparna and Norden Wangdi and Joy Mitra.
