Manish Arora flirts with ‘India’

It seems like Manish Arora is in love with ‘India’ all over again.

Post his term ending as the creative director at Paco Rabanne, Arora showcased his Spring-Summer 2013 collection at the Paris Fashion Week that was essentially ‘Indian’. Some weeks ago, he had divested 51 per cent stakes of his label “Indian by Manish Arora” to India’s largest ethnic wear  retailer, Biba.

On Wednesday night, Arora showcased his ‘Indian Enchanted’ jewellery collection in collaboration with Amrapali at Evoluzione. The collection was an adaptation of tradition and heritage in contemporary form. Motifs of the animals, lotus and leaves through the collection seem to find favour with the ladies.

Tina Malhotra of Evoluzione played the perfect hostess and actor Lisa Ray was the surprise guest. This was Lisa’s first visit to India after her marriage. Also spotted at the champagne soiree were designers Rohit Gandhi & Rahul Khanna, Namrata Joshipura, Ritu Kumar, Payal Pratap Singh, Poonam Bhagat and Pankaj & Nidhi Ahuja. Amol Vadehra, stylist Gautam Kalra, Sanjeev and Shelly Batra, Aparna Bahl and models Sapna Kumar and Joey Matthews were seen clinking their champagne flutes.
