Women Safety Sensitation on Wheels

With an aim to spread sensitisation on women safety and security among youth, a NGO, Breakthrough,has started a video-van campaign.

In is first campaign series-it began on November 27 and will go on December 11- a video van of the NGO will visit public areas with huge footfall such as marketplaces, chowks, communities and campuses to make people aware on how to make public and private spaces safer for women.

In the first week the NGO has recevied an overwhelming response , especially from the young generation.

The van has visited various schools of Mandi House, Sangam Vihar, Malviya nagar market and Badarpur area and Delhi University north campus.

The van stations at a particular spot in the area and shows video messages and stories on preventing crime against women. The campaign was flagged off with an all-women bike rally from Mandi House . The women biker's rally was organised in collaboration with the Bikerni-a group of women motorcyclists.

A press release issued by the NGO stated, " The group wants to send a powerful message of women reclaiming free mobility. As part of the 15-day camp, discussions on women safety, stigma, inter-generational dialogue and segregation of women in the society will also be conducted."
