NEW DELHI: Barely three weeks after the CBI conducted searches at the office of Nikunj Aggarwal, officer on special duty (OSD) to State Health Minister Satyendra Jain, the agency’s anti-corruption wing has now asked the department to send files related to various procurements.

The CBI last week had registered a preliminary enquiry against Deputy CM Manish Sisodia and others in connection with alleged irregularities in one of the government’s social media campaigns.

The health department has received a letter from the CBI asking it to provide details of all the procurements done in 2015-16.

The CBI wants all files related to sanitisation and security from the state health department. “Files related to procurement of medicines, H1N1 masks, lab analysers and swine flu vaccines have been asked for,” sources said.

“The agency wants to check alleged irregularities in procurements done through Central Procurement Agency doubting that the government might have purchased a few things to favour companies which deal with dengue and swine flu vaccination,” a senior Delhi government official told The Sunday Standard.

The investigation agency had recently registered an FIR in connection with alleged irregularities in the appointment of Nikunj Aggarwal as OSD to Jain.

CBI claimed that Aggarwal, a senior resident at the Delhi government-run Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, was appointed OSD flouting all norms.

The agency also searched the office of Anup Mohta, the director of Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalya.
