BENGALURU:   Acting on the directions of BJP national president Amit Shah to iron out the differences within the party, BJP state leadership had decided to give a free hand to dissident leader K S Eshwarappa to lead BJP Backward Community Morcha to consolidate the party’s base among HINDA (Kannada acronym for backward communities and Dalits).

The BJP State Core Committee, which met here last week, decided to authorise Eshwarappa to lead the morcha in accordance with the decision taken during a meeting with Shah recently.

The decision was taken following Eshwarappa’s assurance that he would keep away from the Sangolli Rayanna Brigade (SRB).

The party leadership had asked Eshwarappa to dissociate himself from SRB and organise the HINDA rallies under BJP BC Morcha banner instead of SRB banner.

The core committee meeting attended by BJP National General Secretary in-charge of party affairs Muralidhar Rao and other senior leaders emphasised the need for putting an end to bickerings within the party and presenting a show of unity to create a positive public perspective.

The meeting expressed concern at the absence of many senior leaders in Yeddyurappa’s ongoing Janasamparka Abhiyan. The meeting has called upon the party leaders to participate in the Abhiyan with vigour.

BJP State General Secretary Aravind Limbavali said the party will hold 33 public rallies throughout the state to highlight the achievements of three years of the Narendra Modi government.
