In his parallel creative world, Shashank Shukla, co-founder of Inkmythoughts, a platform encouraging the creative arts, is embracing an Utopian entity. It’s a pure space where imagination in music, poetry, photography, stories and writing flourish. No restrictions. This time he brings 16 poets in an event by Akshara Theatre called, An Artsy Evening, with Sanjita Mittal, Aditi Dasgupta, Vaishnavi Sharma and others, along with open mic slots.

Open platforms such as these are pools for aspiring talent to bring out their best. “They all need experience to make it big, and it has to start somewhere. Such opportunities are the best,” says Shukla.  He, along with his team, attended various poetry sessions to develop the idea. Whether it’s Hindi, English, Punjabi, nazm, sher, story or any other form, you’ll find it all here. “Words are as potent as weapons and humble as a prayer. It’s strength must be shared with the audience in good measure,” he says.

The evening also packs in a Comedy Hour with stand up artiste Kishore Dayani. You also have short theatre pieces. The Symphony segment brings you live music by Keshav Seth, Rani Dechhen Chouhan, Uday Manhas and Nisa Shetty. Akshara Café brings you some quick bites too. Now all this is some serious food for thought.

Good to know: June 18, at 6 pm, at Akshara Theatre, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Connaught Place. Tickets available on Bookmyshow, Paytm.in, Insider.in and Akshara.
