Musing over an old musical order

Nobody rocked and rolled it quite as well as Led Zeppelin in the 60’s. They erased old rules and wrote new ones audaciously. In a recall to their glory, Heavens Down, an Indian Rock & Roll band, tune in to their legendary sounds by offering them a tribute.

The band members, Siddharth Nagrath (vocalist), Manjit Joseph (guitars and backing vocals), Sudarshan Chetlur (drums, percussion and backing vocals), Pranav Gawri (bass), Leo (keyboards, rhythm guitars and backing vocals), predict this to become one of their best shows.

“When we hit stage, it’s going to be awesome, but even before it, I sense so much energy that we’re unable to contain within our bodies. We are eager to sing our hearts out to the Gods of music— Led Zeppelin,” says Nagrath, who along with his group, has lined popular compositions such as Black Dog, Dyer Maker, Nobody’s Fault but Mine, Achilles Last Stand and others.

After appearing at several campus festivals across the country, touring through three editions of the Great Indian Rock Festival, and even becoming one of the city’s first acts to feature in international compilations, the band was Delhi’s answer to bona fide rock and roll music.

“In a scene where there are so many good musical outfits, we are happy to be one of the best,” says Nagrath. Today, they play music by one of the best— ZoSo as they are popularly called. “Let’s rock it, what say?” asks Nagrath.
March 31, at 9 pm, at The Roost, Urban Bistro, 30 A, Ground Floor, Hauz Khas Village. AS
