AAP’s Speciality of Special Sessions

Calling Special Assembly Sessions has become quite a norm in the AAP regime.

NEW DELHI: Calling Special Assembly Sessions has become quite a norm in the AAP regime. While special sessions are saved for extraordinary times or to deal with some special issues, the AAP government led by Arvind Kejriwal has held it on at least seven occasions in two years of its ruling in Delhi. They have mostly resulted in controversies.

“The BJP has no face against Arvind Kejriwal,” an AAP leader claims. In the MCD polls, the party lost in various seats by narrow margins; MLA Vandana Kumari claimed the winning margin was less than 100 votes in some seats; in one, the AAP candidate lost by 2 votes. Pinky Tyagi of AAP bagged 8,413 votes while Anita Tanwar got 8,415. The party believes faulty EVM machines have been exposed.
