Plaint against Karnataka CM son over ‘benami’ deals

A complaint has been filed with the Income Tax department seeking a probe into alleged benami transactions by CM Siddaramaiah’s son Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah, former director of Matrix Imaging Solutions Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru. In his complaint, Varthur Kanaka Das said, “Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah and Matrix Imaging Solutions Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru made several benami transactions worth hundreds of crores under different names.” The shares of the company are controlled by Dr Yathindra, who is a medical practitioner.

Prabakaran, 28, a sub-jail warder in Vellore allegedly took up robbery to earn extra and fulfil his quest for adventure after getting acquainted with the inmates who were specialists in the field. He was arrested by a patrolling squad while planning a robbery with other ‘gang members’ on Vaniyambadi Main Road. Police said he used to smuggle contraband items into the prison for his friends, to bond with them.

Last Nizam’s Granddaughter Lays Claim to College Land

The Punjagutta police have registered cases against managements of the Muffakham Jah College of Engineering, Sulthan-Ul-Uloom College of Pharmacy and Amjad Ali Khan College of Business administration in Hyderabad for alleged illegal land possession. Police said, Ameena Marzia, 70, one of the daughters of late Prince Muazzam Jah Bahadur and grand daughter of Nizam VII Nawab Mir Osman Ali Khan Bahadur, lodged a complaint against the trustees and claimed that they have illegally possessed the land.
