NEW DELHI: Sacked Delhi minister Kapil Mishra, who hit the headlines by levelling corruption allegations against Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, is now himself on a slippery slope after all his allegations against Kejriwal fell flat.
In the past two weeks, Mishra has posted more than 100 tweets in attempt to corner Kejriwal. But every time, his allegations were neutralised by the AAP government.
Even his own party and opposition as well has stopped taking him seriously. AAP volunteers have even prepared a parody video of Mishra’s press conference where he fainted while showing undated cheques.
During a press conference on May 14, Mishra alleged that AAP party took donations from shell companies and converted black money easily. To prove his point, Mishra showed three undated cheques—one of `21 lakh and two of `35 crore each and fainted in the press conference. But, after an hour of his press conference, Twitterati trolled Mishra by showing print screen of Col Devinder
Sehrawat’s twitter account in which he had shared the same cheque last year.
“Yes these cheques have been shown earlier as well, by other persons but AAP has not replied to this,” Mishra told The Sunday Standard. “I managed to get these cheques from an AAP insider and submitted the details to CBI.” But recently, a Delhi-based businessman came out in public and said that Mishra was lying and he legally donated the money to the party.
He also claimed that companies that were quoted as ‘shell companies’ belonged to him. Now, Kapil Mishra was left with one allegation—misuse of funds through foreign tours by AAP leaders. The AAP in reply to these allegations has provided details of foreign tours of two leaders. Party has claimed that not even a penny was spent illegally on tours.
With this, Kapil Mishra has become Kapil Sharma of Delhi politics, giving public reasons to laugh.
