HYDERABAD: Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao made it clear that he will not go back on his decision to construct a new Secretariat at Bison Polo Grounds. Brushing aside objections raised by BJP members, he announced that he would invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for laying the Secretariat’s foundation stone.
“No other state except TS has such a bad Secretariat building,” Rao said at the ongoing State Legislative Assembly session.

The current Secretariat neither has proper planning nor permissions from the municipal corporation. There is no space to move fire tenders, posing a grave threat in case of fire accidents, he said.

When BJP members G Kishan Reddy and K Laxman wanted the state to withdraw the proposal to construct a new Secretariat, Rao said the government would go ahead with its plans. He, however, said, “Vastu is a factor. But, it is not the lone factor.”
