Seven people, including a key anti-Taliban figure, were killed and eight injured in a suicide bombing incident in Afghanistan's Ghazni province, police said Saturday.

The attack was carried out in a market Friday evening where Daulat Khan, a key anti-Taliban figure in the province, was shopping.

"Daulat Khan was busy in shopping in Qarabagh bazaar on Friday evening when a suicide bomber blew himself up killing Khan along with three of his bodyguards," reported Xinhua citing deputy provincial police chief Assadullah Insafi.

Three civilians were also killed and eight injured in the blast, he added.
