At least 14 people were killed and about 50 injured after a 'pandal' fell on them due to strong winds and heavy rains during 'Ram Katha' programme in the district on Sunday.
The makeshift pandal (canopy) that fell during a Ram Katha in Rajasthan’s Barmer district killing 15 people, collapsed due to sudden rain accompanied by gusty winds.
According to reports, the thunderstorm was so intense that the tent was blown in the air and the iron stands supporting it became conductor of electricity killing people on the spot.
Prima facie, it seemed they shot themselves dead with two country-made pistols that were recovered from the spot.
