The Election Commission plans to introduce the EVMs in the national polls slated for December.
Justice Siddharth Mridul, besides directing the university, also sought a response from the chief electoral officer appointed by the varsity.
The plea filed by three candidates alleged that EVMs were tampered with and questioned how "privately procured" EVMs could have been used in the polls held on September 12.
The EVMs were also used for the Tiz Hazari court bar association polls in 2014, which were declared null and void following allegations of machine tampering.
The counting of votes for the DUSU polls was suspended midway due to faulty EVMs and the students' uproar over it.
A division bench of Justices S Manikumar and Subramonium Prasad dismissed the PIL on Tuesday.
They are also told to fill up the vacancies of Returning Officers (ROs) and Assistant Returning Officers (AROs).
The team headed by deputy election commissioner Umesh Sinha will be meeting leaders of all political parties and officials from transport, excise and income tax departments separately on Tuesday.
“This is just an estimate, the damage may vary from car to car, which can only be determined when we start working on an individual car,” said EVM body shop advisor Amal Thomas.
The petition sought a direction to publish the list of such authorised engineers.
