The merger has increased the strength of the BJP from 12 to 14 in the 36-member House. Congress, which is the principal opposition party in the state, too has 14 MLAs on the floor.
The remarks were made by state Shiv Sena President Jitesh Kamat after he met Goa Governor Mridula Sinha demanding the dismissal of the BJP-led coalition government and dissolution of assembly.
This was the first official meeting called by ailing Chief Minister Parrikar since he was admitted to AIIMS on September 15.
The BJP's Francis D'Souza and Pandurang Madkaikar have been ailing for some time and are admitted at hospitals.
