The Election Commission (EC) on Saturday rejected Saritha's candidature to contest the upcoming polls as an Independent candidate.
Saritha, who initially filed her nomination for the Ernakulam LS constituency, has declared cash assets of Rs 5,700, a bank balance of Rs 10,200, and 38 gm of gold and jewellery worth Rs 1,14,000.
The candidature of Saritha, who has levelled serious allegations of corruption and sexual exploitation against Congress leaders, is excepted to dent UDF's image.
