Balala Hakkula Sangham, a NGO, moved the SHRC appealing them to direct the government to initiate action on the officials concerned with Shishu Vihar infant deaths.
According to District Child Protection Unit of Hyderabad in most of these cases, the newborns were found abandoned in garbage dumps or in isolated areas.
The child rights groups wrote to the Chief Secretary alleging proper diet was not given to the children at Shishu Vihar.
In the first case, a 4-day-old baby girl, Nithya was sent to Niloufer Hospital for a regular check-up on July 12, where doctors said there was absolutely no problem with her health.
