The Corporation had proposed to identify vacant lands owned by itself and other state government agencies to develop smart city projects in June last year.
The Smart Parking Project is likely to be implemented soon, with the state government choosing to hand over work to a bidder.
The parking spots will be monitored by CCTV cameras and defaulters will be taken to task by the Chennai Traffic Police.
