SC issues directions on police reforms, asks states and Union Territories not to appoint cops as acting DGPs
Taking a dim view of states appointing ‘acting DGPs’, SC said, 'There will not be any appointments of acting DGPs. Once appointed, a DGP will get a two-year tenure irrespective of superannuation.'
For the second consecutive year, over 50 Muslim candidates have qualified for the coveted civil services.
Anu Kumari secured the second rank and was the topper among the female candidates while Sachin Gupta got the overall third rank.
The roll numbers of the candidates, who cleared the mains examination were made available on the commission's website, www.upsc.gov.in.
