Terror bid foiled in Pakistan, 15 kg-bomb defused

PESHAWAR: Pakistani security forces today foiled a terror bid by defusing a 15 kg-bomb planted in a cart in a market in this northwestern city.

Unidentified miscreants had planted the remote-controlled bomb in a pushcart in Karkhano Market, the hub of foreign goods situated at the confluence of Peshawar and Khyber Agency.

On receiving information about the bomb, police rushed to the area and defused the bomb.

SSP Operation Peshawar said the report was received regarding a battery lying unattended on a pushcart.

The bomb disposal squad was called immediately to defuse the explosive.
