Six aid workers killed in South Sudan ambush: UN

NAIROBI: Six aid workers have been killed in an ambush in famine-hit South Sudan, the UN's humanitarian agency said Sunday, the highest number murdered in one incident since the start of a three-year civil war.

"I am appalled and outraged by the heinous murder yesterday of six courageous humanitarians in South Sudan," said Eugene Owusu of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). The agency did not say who the aid workers were employed by.
