ISLAMABAD: Anti-government demonstrators today attacked the office of Pakistan's leading TV channel Geo News here with stones, damaging the building.
As protesters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) were marching towards the Prime Minister House, a crowd of angry demonstrators gathered outside the office of Geo News and attacked it with stones in the wee hours.
The staff struggled to find a safe passage and managed to escape from the scene, the Geo News reported.
Some stick-wielding protestors also attacked the satellite van of the news channel. The staff, however, managed to escape after they were surrounded by angry protesters.
Last night, supporters of opposition leader Imran Khan and cleric Tahir-ul-Qadri sought to storm Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's residence here by breaking through the police barricade, in which three people were killed and nearly 500 injured.
