To accelerate funds to the charity Nele, a home for street children, rag pickers and destitute children, Dhruva Foundation’s Bangalore wing, as part of their project Aadhaara, h a s o r - ganised a fusion music concert Fusion Dreams by renowned classical or world fusion violinist Dr Jyotsna Srikanth at Chowdaiah Hall, Vyalikaval on April 8. She is accompanied by other musicians like Shadrach Solomon, Alwyn Fernandes, Rudy David, Karthik Mani, Prasanna Kumar and Balakrishna. Music scholarships for needy or talented children of the orphanage and prizes of R R Keshavamurthy memorial violin or vocal national competition will be given on the day.
A medical doctor with a post-graduation in pathology, Jyotsna Srikanth, a Bangalorean who is now based in London, took to full time music. Recently, she was conferred Fellowship in Carnatic Music from the Trinity College of Music, London. She is presently working on an unprecedented Indian violin concerto in London. Jyotsna is arguably the only name that springs to music collaborators in Western Europe and India while seeking artistes of high versatility across Indian classical, Indian jazz and world fusion music. She has been collaborating with the pioneers of the world fusion music both within UK and outside.
She has also been featured in major global music events like WOMAD - UK, BBC Proms, Red Violin Festival - Wales, British Parliament.
